Tucson Saguaros Roll Past Santa Fe Fuego 20-5

July 19 2016 The Tucson Saguaros erupted for 23 hits and defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 20-5. Tucson scored in each of the first four innings, building a 15-2 lead after four frames before adding five more runs over the final five innings. Santa Fe scored twice in the first and three times in the ninth.

R. Retz went 5-for-6 with four runs and four RBI for Tucson, while Jimmy Heck also collected five hits and drove in five runs. Retz and Heck each hit two home runs. Steven Borkowski added two hits, two RBI and two home runs, and Tommy Lyons contributed two hits and three RBI. Tucson also received two-hit performances from Michael Morris Jesse Baker Tanner Giesel Burnell Dailey and Borkowski.

Borkowski earned the win after allowing two runs on six hits in seven innings. He struck out nine and walked two. Aaron Smith followed with a scoreless inning before Michael Rampone completed the game for Tucson.

Daniel Aldrich led Santa Fe with three hits including a home run and two RBI. Kevin Alvarez hit a home run and drove in three runs, while Anthony Ruggiero added two hits. Anthony Garcia took the loss after surrendering 16 runs, 15 earned, on 16 hits in six innings.
