Tucson Saguaros outlast Alpine Cowboys 11-9

ALPINE, Texas — May 27, 2026 — The Tucson Saguaros held off a late Alpine Cowboys rally to win 11-9 on Wednesday night.

Tucson built a 7-2 lead through seven innings, but Alpine stormed back with five runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 7-7. The Saguaros answered immediately in the eighth when Jack Kalisky hit a two-run home run, giving Tucson the lead for good.

Kalisky led Tucson’s offense, going 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs, two walks, and two runs scored. Diego Zuniga also drove in three runs, while Jontae Hennesy went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Jorge Carrero added two hits and two RBIs.

Alpine was led by Xavien Thompson, who went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three runs scored, and an RBI. Joseph Binder drove in two runs, while Michael Prisco, Zach Tallerman, and Billy Rivera each had extra- base hits during the Cowboys’ comeback attempt.

Matthew Mejia earned the win for Tucson, while Kalisky recorded the save with two innings of relief and four strikeouts. Bradley Burdett took the loss for Alpine.

Tucson finished with 11 runs on 10 hits and one error. Alpine scored nine runs on 10 hits and committed two errors.
