Pecos Bills Rally Past Tucson Saguaros 5-4

June 5 2024 The Pecos Bills scored three runs in the ninth inning to rally past the Tucson Saguaros 5-4 at Kino Stadium. Pecos finished with 10 hits and no errors while Tucson also collected 10 hits and committed one error.

David Jeffers led the Bills with two hits and two RBI, while J. Rodriguez went 3-for-3 with a walk and drove in a run. T. Taufahema added an RBI, and Pecos also received hits from D. Albin A. Valdes and Christian Quezada. Tucson’s S. Plash went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and K. Trahan had two hits and a walk.

Tucson took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and added two runs in the fourth before Pecos answered with one run in the fourth and another in the sixth. The Saguaros added a run in the seventh, but the Bills’ three-run ninth put Pecos ahead for good.

J. Cervantes struck out 10 over seven innings for Tucson while allowing seven hits and two earned runs. Pecos starter Alex Jacobs worked seven innings and allowed six hits and four earned runs with five strikeouts. Travis Bonner earned the win with a scoreless inning, and George Mills recorded the save after allowing one hit and striking out one in the ninth.
