Tucson Saguaros Defeat Trinidad Triggers 12-7

August 7 2023 The Tucson Saguaros defeated the Trinidad Triggers 12-7 after collecting 15 hits and scoring in seven innings. Tucson built an early 4-1 lead through four innings before Trinidad tied the game with three runs in the fifth. The Saguaros regained the lead in the bottom half and pulled away with three runs in the seventh and three more in the eighth. Trinidad scored twice in the ninth but could not complete the comeback.

B. Minarcin led Tucson with three hits and six RBI, while S. Joyner went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two walks. J. Franklin added two hits and a home run, and J. Medina also homered for the Saguaros. G. Perez-Torres scored three runs and had two hits. For Trinidad, P. Bocchino went 3-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI, while J. Rooks had two hits and an RBI.

Brendan Konal earned the win for Tucson after allowing four earned runs on five hits in five innings while striking out six and walking four. K. Samorano followed with two innings, permitting one run on three hits with two strikeouts. B. Kowalski took the loss for Trinidad, giving up five earned runs on nine hits in five innings with four strikeouts and five walks.

Tucson finished with 12 runs, 15 hits and one error, while Trinidad totaled seven runs, 11 hits and one error. The Saguaros offense produced 12 RBI and 12 walks in the victory.
