Roswell Invaders Hold Off Tucson Saguaros 11-9

June 8 2023 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Tucson Saguaros 11-9 at Kino Stadium. Roswell finished with 10 hits and two errors while Tucson collected 13 hits and committed three errors.

Roswell broke open a scoreless game with three runs in the second inning and seven more in the third to take a 10-3 lead. Tucson answered with four runs in the sixth and two in the seventh, but the Invaders added a run in the seventh and held on for the victory.

Humberto Vela earned the win for Roswell after allowing six hits and five runs three earned in five innings with three walks and five strikeouts. Jonathan Fleckenstein recorded the save with two scoreless innings allowing one hit and striking out four. Isaac Keehn took the loss for Tucson after surrendering 10 runs seven earned on five hits in 2.1 innings.

Vela also led Roswell offensively with one hit and five RBI. John Tuttle had two RBI while Micah Walker scored three runs and added one RBI. For Tucson Zachary Campbell and Branlyn Jaraba each had two hits and two RBI, while Jordan Harrison-Dudley contributed two RBI off the bench.
